After graduating with a BSc. (Hons) from Durham University, Mark initially moved to London to train in Tax and Accountancy. Seeking more excitement than the corporate world could offer, he joined the British Army. Following attendance at the prestigious Royal Military Academy Sandhurst he spent seven years leading soldiers as a Commissioned Officer. After reaching the rank of Captain and seeking a fresh challenge, Mark left service to pursue a career in Financial Advice. He obtained his Diploma qualification in a mere four months, and, in between client meetings, he continues his studies towards Chartered status.
After initially working for a London-based financial advice firm, Mark, looking for a firm of much higher quality, joined Heritage. He particularly enjoys spending time talking to clients, discovering what makes them tick as well as their aspirations and life-goals. He loves the variety of the profession; no two clients are ever the same! He firmly believes that taking the time to properly get to know someone is the only basis from which a clear, robust and fully personalised financial plan can be produced and properly implemented.
“The life-changing impact that good financial planning can have on somebody is incredibly rewarding.”
Outside of work Mark enjoys keeping active and loves nothing better than spending a week skiing the Austrian alps. His other loves include reading, watching sport (F1, football and rugby) and collecting Scotch Whisky.
