On the face of it this is great news for many of our clients, but of course it's not quite as straightforward as that, and apparently only 36% of practices plan to re-open today, given such short notice.
A recent polling of over 2,000 practices found that more than 60% believe they will be able to treat less than 25% of the patient numbers they saw prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, and just one third of practices said they had enough PPE to provide face-to-face care.
The CDO has issued the new standard operating procedures, which provides a framework for the safe provision of dentistry, but it's important not to forget the other items that need to be ticked off when reopening the practice, including insurances.
